Regardless of your skating ability, there will be something for everyone both on and off the ice, from daily skating activities to winter festival events. There will be a full complement of free public recreation programs Skating for Schools, Learn to Skate programs and speed skating clinics. Special events at the Halifax Oval will include: holiday skating events, a winter skating festival, a weekly theme event, and major special events. In the spirit of celebrating HRM’s unique arts and culture, the Halifax Oval will be a destination for special events and cultural activities on weekends and throughout the holiday season. Events this season may include • A grand opening • A Family New Year’s Eve • DJ Events • Live Musical Performances • Special Guests • On Ice Activities • Visual Displays • Movie Nights • and more... Temporary public art, artist-inspired warming huts, interpretive heritage displays, ice sculptures, art activities, and food and refreshments will add to the overall experience.
